Picton Court Care Home is set in attractive, spacious grounds with beautiful coastal and countryside views for over 55s in Porthcawl, near Bridgend, south Wales. The team focus on giving a great quality of life to everyone.
Our team of specially trained colleagues provide tailored care to all residents, including those with dementia. They pride themselves on providing a happy, friendly and warm environment that lets everyone be as independent or involved as their needs and wants allow.
Picton Court is a stone's throw from Porthcawl town centre and situated 2.5 miles from the famous sea front of Porthcawl, popular not only for its fish and chips, but the annual visit from hundreds of Elvis Presley impersonators. It is also 1.5 miles away from the iconic Kenfig nature reserve and Prince of Wales public house, both of which have a vast history and are famous in the area. Porthcawl town centre offers a full range of services, including a post office, dentist, pharmacy, hairdressers, doctors and several coffee shops, which residents are encouraged to visit.
Picton Court has regular organised activities according to the preferences and wishes of residents. Organised day trips are arranged to local beaches and restaurants, and social interaction is further encouraged through community and church services, communion, music for health, choirs and concerts.
All bedrooms at Picton Court are unique in shape and dimensions, enjoying panoramic views and offering en-suite bathrooms, televisions, telephone points and fitted wardrobes with matching units and chairs. Picton Court is tastefully decorated and people are encouraged to personalise their rooms with small furnishings, pictures and photographs.

Shajitha Augustine
Home Manager
Shajitha has worked for Hafod since 2008 and joined Picton Court as home manager in 2013. She gained a BSc in Nursing in 1998 whilst living in India. Shajitha has always been very committed and compassionate, and believes a career in care is the most rewarding job. She enjoys supporting and leading our team of excellent and dedicated colleagues who do their very best to provide a high level of care to all residents.
Celine Varghese
Deputy Home Manager
Celine started with us at Picton Court in 2008 as a registered general nurse (RGN) and then moved into the role of deputy manager in 2012. She loves being part of our fantasic team and enjoys working with our lovely residents.
Heather Mort
Clinical Lead
Heather joined us in 2022 and has enjoyed an extensive career in the health and care sector, which has provided her with a wealth of knowledge and expertise. She is dedicated to providing the best possible care whilst maintaining a happy, relaxed and homely atmosphere for our residents.
Ruth Lewis
Nurse
Ruth qualified as a registered general nurse in 1989 and went on to work for 10 years in general surgeries in London and Saudi Arabia. Ruth began her career in care 24 years ago and has remained in this area of nursing ever since. She finds her job very rewarding as she can see that our residents are so well cared for, safe, comfortable and supported in a lovely environment at Picton Court.
Helen Gardiner
Domestic Team Leader
Helen joined us at Picton Court in 2016 where she began working as part of the domestic team and later went on to become team leader. She has completed her NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care and finds her role really rewarding and satisfying.

Mandy has been a receptionist at Picton Court for four years and loves the friendly atmosphere at the home.

Judith has been with us as a receptionist since 2018 and enjoys helping people and working with such a fantastic team.

Tracy is always happy to help and has been working as Business Support Administrator at Picton Court since 2014. She loves working at such a friendly home with a fantastic team.

Activity Coordinator
Susan joined us six years ago as an activity co-ordinator and feels she has found her calling in this role. She finds great joy in her role and enjoys using communication, motivation and encouragement to bring smiles to our residents' faces.
