Get into Housing provides paid work placements for people from ethnically diverse communities to gain on-the-job skills and experience while exploring a career in housing.

In 2022, Hafod was one of seven housing associations in Cardiff to deliver a new project called Get into Housing, which provided paid work placements for people from ethnically diverse communities to gain on-the-job skills and experience while exploring a career in housing.

The project was very successful with 30 out of the 40 participants going on to gain employment afterwards. Read Nikhat's story who was successful in applying for a permanent role with our HR team after completing a Get into Housing placement.

Good news! The project is running again in 2023, starting in the autumn. To be eligible, participants need to be:
•    Over 18
•    Living in south Wales
•    From a diverse background
•    Unemployed

Job opportunities can include roles in finance, customer services and housing, community regeneration, development, and more.

Participants will be paid the Real Living Wage during their time on the project and will be placed with a mentor who will support them throughout.
