Fir Tree Centre drive

As we’re under way with rolling out big plans for 2025, we took a step back to reflect on the successes throughout 2024 and the “Here for You” campaign.

Our Housing Services team worked tirelessly across the year. They secured over £40,000 in extra financial assistance to support tenants, thanks to Discretionary Housing Payments, rent rescue payments, backdated Housing benefit and discretionary assistance fund payments.

Our Money Advisor, Lucy, also maximised tenant income by over £200,000!

Here are some other highlights of 2024:

  • The “Back to School” campaign was a huge hit. Through August and September, we supported over 390 children from 215 families with the purchase of over £12,000 worth of uniform and school essentials.

  • The season of giving was in full swing in December with our “Christmas Kindness” campaign which offered £10,000 worth of support for tenants with food and gifts. We also distributed over 250 toys, enabled by a generous donation from Hasbro. This campaign support more than 170 adults and 165 children.

  • We also secured a Food Poverty grant of £5,000, enabling 30 families to be supported with Christmas Hampers in our Fir Tree Drive Community.

“Oh my gosh thank you so, so, so much you have yet again been my guardian angel. You've really helped take the weight off my shoulders - I can't thank you enough.”

“Thank you so much that's going to be such a help, I'm all emotional now. You've made such a difference.”

“Thank you so much. Wonderful scheme that will help many families to not struggle and lift a bit of stress.”
