Digital inclusion charter accreditation

We are proud to have been awarded the Digital Inclusion Charter Accreditation by the Digital Communities Wales: Digital Confidence, Health and Well-being (DCW) programme.

Our Digital Transformation team is dedicated to delivering our digital transformation strategy and developing new digital solutions for our colleagues and customers, ensuring digital inclusion is at the forefront of our planning and delivery activities.

Most recently, we have brought together colleagues with an interest in helping others and a passion for technology, the internet and all things digital, to create a Digital Heroes network to encourage peer-to-peer learning. Our heroes are passionate about supporting others by sharing their knowledge with the aim to empower colleagues to gain the skills and confidence in using digital technology and ultimately pass this onto customers.

Hafod are also delighted to be collaborating with housing providers on the eCymru project with the support of DCW and Welsh Government. The platform which is for customers of registered social landlords in Wales aims to connect the housing community by providing easy access to free online events, courses and information that will help people live happier and healthy lives.

We have recently signed up to become part of the National Digital Inclusion Network. By being part of the network, Hafod will be able to connect with like-minded organisations across the UK working to combat digital exclusion to access resources and be part of the wider digital inclusion agenda.

As a Digital Inclusion Alliance Wales (DIAW) member, we are passionate about contributing to the agenda for change around digital inclusion and working together to make Wales a digitally-inclusive nation.

David Bodger, Digital Programme and Transformation Manager at Hafod, said: “I am delighted we have received this Digital Inclusion Charter Accreditation from DCW. We were the second housing provider in Wales to gain this status and it confirms we are on the right trajectory with our Digital Strategy across Hafod and recognises the focus we are making to digital inclusion with our customers and colleagues alike.”

Following an organisational-wide digital skills audit, in collaboration with DCW, to gain insight into the digital skills and confidence of colleagues, we have invested in a dedicated Digital Adoption and Skills Lead in the team to ensure no-one is left behind on our digital transformation journey.

Cadi Cliff, DCW Programme Manager, said: “Hafod has shown clear commitment to the core strands of digital inclusion – access, skills, and confidence – and we’re delighted to see them gain Digital Inclusion Charter accreditation status.

“Hafod were notably the first organisation in Wales to take an organisational-wide approach to conducting a digital skills audit to gain a baseline insight into the digital skills and confidence of colleagues, which can then be built upon with a programme of support driven by these insights – this has set a standard for others to follow.”
