People in front of a block of flats

Hafod have just handed the keys over to 40 new residents at the Trem Hyfryd site in Leckwith Llandough.

The new development hosts 40 new homes, a mixture of 1 and 2 bedroom flats across three blocks. They are perfectly located with a lovely view of Cardiff city centre across to Cardiff Bay.

Hafod, one of the leading providers of affordable housing in Wales worked in partnership the Vale of Glamorgan Council, and Willis Construction, a leading Welsh Contractor, with almost 40 years’ experience in developing affordable homes in Wales, and a strong commitment to supporting local communities.

Hafod’s Head of Development, Neil Taylor, said:

“By working alongside partners like Willis Construction and Vale of Glamorgan Council, Hafod can provide homes that deliver more than bricks and mortar.

“We are proud to be able to offer these new homes to the community, meeting the need for high quality, affordable homes.

“We are pleased to have delivered these attractive apartments, with possibly one of the best views of Cardiff city centre and are delighted that our new customers are settling in.”

Commenting on the handover, Rhys Ford, Director at Willis Construction said:

“We are proud to have worked collaboratively with Hafod throughout the project to successfully deliver these much-needed affordable homes in Llandough.

Taking over the contract came with challenges; however the determination and dedication of everyone involved has shone through. This is clearly demonstrated in the quality of the build, and industry recognition obtaining a Bronze Award at the Considerate Constructors Scheme 2024 National Site Awards.

We hope the residents are delighted with their new homes.”
