Hafod has teamed up with Hale Construction to bring the Track 2000 development to life, featuring 74 one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, enhancing the vibrant community of Grangetown, Cardiff.

As part of this exciting collaboration, Hafod and Hale Construction are also investing in various social value projects throughout the community.

One project is with The Sustainable Studio, an inspiring artist-led space that recently relocated to Tudor Street in Cardiff after 7 creative years on Curran Road. Since opening in July 2016, The Sustainable Studio has provided affordable studios and fostered professional growth for makers, designers, and creative startups. Through partnerships with organisations and schools, they support students and the community in their creative journeys, making a significant impact across Wales and beyond.

The Sustainable Studio is a welcoming space for all, however their new location on Tudor Street needed modifications to be fully accessible to all. Julia and Sarah, the founders, have successfully transformed the space to do just that. Thanks to the funding from Track 2000’s Social Value community fund, the installation of a brand-new accessible bathroom was completed, ensuring that everyone can enjoy and benefit from the creative environment they offer.

Chris Monk, Project Manager at Hafod, said:
“It has been a great pleasure to be able to offer funds from the Track 2000's Social Value Fund towards The Sustainable Studio’s accessible bathroom. It is wonderful to see it up and running, allowing everyone in the community to benefit.

Matthew Hall, Hale Group Contracts Manager at Track 2000 said:
“Alongside building new homes for the community of Grangetown, our joint Social Value Fund with valued client Hafod, allows us to really make a difference within the local area. We have been fortunate to work with the Sustainable Studio to provide a long-term legacy, through the invaluable provision of a much-needed accessible bathroom; meaning that all members of the community can enjoy the space”.

Julia, Co-founder of The Sustainable Studio said:
“The accessible toilet has been a game changer for us. We are able to offer so much more in the way of workshops, live music and creative events for the immediate community and Cardiff as a whole. It's amazing what you can turn a vacant cupboard into! We are so grateful for the donation from Hafod and Hale Construction to be able to make the transformation a reality.”
