Hafod are financially backing the Back to School essentials fund it in partnership with our social value fund in partnership with our contractors and suppliers, and we’re here to help our customers during this cost-of-living crisis. The increasing cost of living has added financial pressure on families, making Back to School preparation another expense for parents and guardians. At Hafod, we want to lend a helping hand.
If you’re struggling to buy school supplies for your child or children, we’ve got you covered.
How Does It Work?
Each Primary School child will receive a £25 voucher and a Secondary School child will receive a £35 voucher from our voucher issuing partner Prezzee. This enables you to choose where you would like to spend it and allows the child to enjoy picking their own items. Parents or guardians will need an email address to receive the digital voucher. (this will arrive within 10 working days)

When does the Back to School Fund run until?
The Back to School fund is open from Monday 8th July to Friday 6th September. Please make sure you submit your form in enough time to receive your voucher. (Vouchers can take up to 10 working days to arrive)
Claim what's yours: Get financial help through the School Essentials Grant
If your child already gets Free School Meals, there could be more financial help available through the School Essentials Grant, support by the Welsh Government.
This support can help with essentials like school uniform and equipment to make sure your child is ready for the school day.
You could be entitled to financial help of up to £200 for:
- School Uniform: including coats and footwear
- Achool Activities: this could include learning a musical instrument, sports kit and other equipment for after school activities
- Classroom Essentials: this could include pens, pencils and school bags
