Hafod have partnered with Hale Construction to deliver the Track 2000 development of 74 one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, contributing to the wonder redevelopment of Grangetown, Cardiff.
As part of this collaboration, Hafod and Hale Construction are investing in social value projects, including a partnership with St. Patrick’s Primary School, a local school to the Track 2000 site.
2B Enterprising create valuable partnerships between business and schools to raise aspirations and inspire the next generation of employees. They recently, visited St Patricks to inspire Year 1/2 students with a workshop centred around networking and communication, using the engaging story of 'The Bumbles of Honeywood' as inspiration.
Following the story session, children created their own business cards and had the opportunity to network with each other. Chris Monk, Project Manager, and Jake Tregoning, Communications Officer from Hafod, also spoke with the students, sparking curiosity about construction. For many, the highlight was wearing Chris' hardhat and hi-vis vest.
This partnership highlights Hafod and Hale Construction's joint commitment to community engagement and nurturing the next generation of leaders.
Jayne Brewer, CEO at 2B Enterprising, said: “It is so important for businesses to engage with the communities they work in and we are thrilled that Hale Construction have chosen to include The Bumbles of Honeywood Programme in their projects with Hafod. Feedback from the school has been so positive and the children enjoyed hearing from Hale Construction and Hafod at the first workshop. We need more businesses to see us as their link to Primary Schools in their communities and understand the importance of embedding Enterprise skills at a young age.”
Chris Monk, Project Manager at Hafod, said: “Participating in workshops like this is essential to our mission of making a meaningful difference. Seeing the children enthusiastically embrace networking and communication was truly inspiring. We at Hafod were proud to see the spark of enterprise and confidence in the children.”
Lisa Lewis, Community Engagement Officer at Hale, said: “It's an amazing opportunity to begin establishing partnerships with our local St. Patrick's Primary School for the Track 2000 project. We envision it as a source of inspiration, invaluable learning, and entrepreneurial reflection for all participants, showcasing the positive skills acquired.”
2B Enterprising, Hafod and Hale Construction will be hosting another session with the children in the autumn as part of this project. For further details, please email news@hafod.org.uk.
