Set in beautifully landscaped grounds in Pontypool, Torfaen, Plas y Garn provides a warm and welcoming home for people over 65. We focus on delivering a great quality of life for our residents, whatever their abilities and needs may be.
Our specially trained team provides personalised care, including residential care and specialist support for those living with physical or mental disabilities and dementia. We take pride in creating a happy, friendly, and warm environment where residents can be as independent or as involved as they choose.

Meet our management team
David Daniels, Home Manager
David has worked in the care sector for over 14 years, beginning as a care assistant in mental health rehabilitation and progressed to the role of registered manager within five years. David joined us as a senior care assistant in 2018 and has worked his way back through to the position of manager. He finds working with and supporting residents with dementia so rewarding and enjoys making a difference to their lives.
Rhian Jones, Deputy Manager
Rhian joined Hafod in 2020 and has worked at Plas y Garn since 2021. Previously, she has worked as a mental health nurse and has also held NHS roles, working in a variety of settings from prisons to A&E. Rhian has also worked as a matron in a large state-run boarding school, working in the houses and manning the medical centre. She’s returned to work in care as she always imagined she would, knowing this was where she felt most comfortable.
